Affiliate Program Comparison: Keyword Discovery Vs. WordTracker!

Keyword optimization has long been a foundation for marketing and optimizing websites. With clever products on the market that help you research and discover keywords in any niche, it begs the comparison - which keyword tool is best?

Unfortunately, we can't tell you the right keywords or even the right software to use to find them, but we can compare the affiliate programs for the Keyword Discovery and WordTracker. Both affiliate programs are naturals for any internet marketing or SEO blog or site. We'll simply let you discover which is best suited to make money for you.

The Break Down

Most serious webmaster and SEO professionals use a word tracking tool, the trick with either of these tools would be to find new individuals to target whom are not already customers. Fortunately, there are always new entrants to the online world, so the client base is steady if not expanding.

To market a product such as keyword software, you must have help from the product itself to earn commissions. WordTracker is a recognizable name that is already branded in the industry. It helps webmasters locate keywords within a niche for the last three months.

On the other hand Keyword Discovery is less recognizable and less flashy than Wordtracker, but offers a more substantial product. Keyword Discovery takes users back through twelve months of keywords offering a more complete and potentially profitable picture of a particular niche or industry.

Perhaps to make up for its less attractive packaging, the affiliate program for Keyword Tracker is more appealing than WordTracker. Lifetime earnings on Keyword Tracker are a major plus along with a high percentage on second tier earnings. The long-term earning potential of Keyword Tracker is significant as you continue to earn when webmasters renew their subscriptions year after year.

Wordtracker on the other hand might be easier to sell due to its name brand recognition, and each sale makes a nice one-time 15% commission with no lifetime earning potential.

The bottom line

If you can sell a dressed down model of super software, you stand to gain long term with Keyword Discovery. If you prefer to let the name of a product do the selling, WordTracker might be your best option.

Affiliate Marketing Industry Review - Credit Card Affiliate Programs

Many credit card merchants are willing to pay high commissions for completed applications and even more for approvals. Before you dive into the credit card industry, understand that credit card affiliate programs are not necessarily easy money. Despite claims to the contrary, it takes more than a well placed banner to make money with credit card affiliate programs.

Credit cards are arguably one of the most profitable sectors of affiliate marketing. The demand for new credit cards is huge and competition is hot among lenders.

Advantages of the Credit Card Industry

The banking industry as a whole, including credit cards, is huge. Billions of dollars move through banks and millions are charged each month on credit cards. There is an ever increasing demand for credit cards making the niche a strong one for future sales and a steady source of income potential.

Credit card companies offer large commissions to attract both affiliate marketers and the resulting traffic. A credit card company stands to make a great deal of money from even the most generic customer, so it can afford to pay you big bucks to bring another client into the fold.

Risks of the Credit Card Industry

Because it is a high paid industry, there are many affiliates already in the credit card market and many more constantly joining. There are arguably enough clients and banks to go around, but this may not always be the case. Commissions are likely to stay at the higher end of the affiliate marketing industry, but competition will be increasingly tough as more and more individuals are drawn into such a highly paid sector.

The economy also has some adverse effect on credit card affiliate programs should it falter. If a particular program pays on acceptances, a sluggish economy and depressed financial market might translate to fewer approvals and less profit despite the same amount of work and possibly expense.

Rewards of the Credit Card Industry

Currently, base commission for successful credit card applications through an affiliate site is $160. You stand to make $30 for just having a visitor complete an application. With the sheer number of individuals researching and signing up for credit cards online, success can't be too far away. Effectively promote your website and credit card affiliate ads and you could stand to make a tidy sum every month.

Challenges of the Credit Card Industry

The main challenge you face in the credit card affiliate programs is the same challenge faced by any affiliate marketing plan. Many companies offer a "if you build it, they will come" scenario, only to leave many affiliates scratching their heads when the traffic and commissions fail to materialize.

To be successful in the credit card industry, especially with such a quickly growing number of competitors, you must be a successful internet marketer. But if you already have the internet know-how to get traffic to your site and make your ads especially appealing, you can be well on your way to credit card affiliate success.

Day-part Targeting when Working with Internet Marketing

Prime time is a concept that has been understood by television advertisers for years. There are simply times of day (or night) where more people are tuning in, and advertisers covet those times since their ads will reach more people if they are aired during those times. Furthermore, advertisers also know that different types of consumers are watching at different times. People watching at 3 a.m. are better candidates for sleep aid and mattress ads. Those watching at noon may respond better to ads for vocational schools. Advertisers try to find time-slots on the television schedule appropriate for the products they are selling.

While prime time for television is in the evening, prime time for the Internet is during the day, when people may be surfing at work.

Day-part Targeting for Internet Advertisers

What time-slot placement is to television advertisers, day-part targeting is to Internet advertisers. The idea here is that a website will have different ads on its pages depending on what time of day it is. This is a boon for both advertiser and hosting site. The hosting site can have more ads on its pages, while the advertiser doesn't need to pay for having its ad on the site at a time when no motivated consumers will be browsing. The hosting site may also gain some consumers across time periods who come back to see the new ads that appear later in the day, which benefits both the host site and the advertiser.

How Day-part Targeting Works

Just as with television, there are certain prime times for Internet advertising and certain times that are appropriate for specific products or targeted demographics. While prime time for television is in the evening, prime time for the Internet is during the day, when people may be surfing at work.

Day-part Targeting Issues

Since the idea of day-part targeting is relatively new, a good cost-model has not yet been generated. Those prime daytime hours may at some point need to generate a higher cost per click than ads posted at a less favorable time. As day-part targeting becomes more popular, advertisers and web hosts are likely to try out a number of cost-models until the most effective one is found.

Perform or Die: How to survive in the new Internet economy

"It's the end of the beginning... Online businesses must now prove they can generate revenue and profits instead of building market share and selling dreams. It's back to business as usual, with growth built on cash flow."

"It's the end of the beginning... Online businesses must now prove they can generate revenue and profits instead of building market share and selling dreams. It's back to business as usual, with growth built on cash flow."
There are 2 types of companies on the Internet; those who test, and those who lose money.
Which will you be? Nothing else matters. Here's why:

1. Internet hype is over. Today you have to generate traffic and convert it to sales quickly. Being in the black is not a trend, it's a way of doing business.
2. Getting performance out of your advertising is all that matters. And testing is the only way to get performance, quickly and with precision.

If you have been following the Internet shake out in the news, watched Internet stocks fall down to zero and wondered what really works on the web then this article is for you.

Let us talk about what really matters. Monetization. It is a very fine word for making
money on the web. There is a shift going on at the moment in online advertising. While earlier it was ok to spend huge resources on institutional advertising now you need to make your ads perform. Advertisers need guaranteed results. Your company website needs ads that will put real revenue into your bank account.

Why are banner ads failing? Why are companies going out of business?

Some companies have a wrong business model from the start. Selling clothes online is not smart as an example since clothes are a typical "touch and feel" product. But in many cases they have spent too much money on advertising that does not work. The effect: Customer acquisition costs go through the roof!

Here is what works. The web is an interactive medium. People can take action immediately.
Simply put: The web is a direct response channel.

The Internet is a direct marketing medium that grows through understanding what your visitors want. What you know about your audience will determine your profitability. In fact… your existing web site audience will tell you what they like if you ask them. In our daily work we test everything we do. Online visitors give us the metrics and tell us what they like. The customer is in total control.

Making money online is about two things.

1. Tapping into existing traffic flows on the web
2. Effective merchandizing

Do not try to create traffic from scratch. The traffic is already out there! The audience you desire to get is right now… this very minute while you are reading this sentence… visiting other websites.

To tap into other websites' traffic and customer relationships you need a good existing sales process in place. If you can´t sell your own offer… and show good conversion rates.... they will not be able to promote you to their visitors.

Let us show you the two steps you need to take to get Direct Results for your company.

Step 1: Monetize your existing traffic and study your users' behaviors.
Implement a tracking system to study all actions visitors take on your site.
Analyze your audience's expressed demands. What do they want? What do they like?
Test via email, Web sites, interstitials, etc. to see which advertising mediums provide the maximum effect for your message
Add offers from co-marketing partners to get additional revenue from your website audience.
Step 2: Plug your existing tested offer into other peoples web sites and start buying ads based on performance.
Get placement on other websites and only pay per performance.
Pay the publisher based on a completed action, not an impression.
You can compensate per lead, per click or per sale or a hybrid version of these three.
Track and administrate these relationships through affiliate program software.
This is what smart companies do today. They do not guess. Instead they test and apply working direct marketing principles into their online business activities.

Does this perspective differ from traditional advertising agencies that spend millions of dollars on banner ads mostly funded by venture capitalists and the stock market?

It certainly does.

Building a successful brand should be based on a good ROI measured instantly. And the best branding is giving your users a good clear visitor experience and having them take action and start a dialogue with your company. While you are doing this make sure that you monetize every single action they take.

Branding is important. But revenue and performance will keep you alive.
